The effect of the new technology on TV and Film

Treatments - Horse Meat - Benefits - Crime

Horse meat:
Content synopsis:

In my speech package, asking people who attend the college City of Westminster how the affect of the horse meat scandal has on each of them personally as everyone has a different voice and opinion.

I'll be questioning students, teachers and visitors on the possible affect the scandal has caused them and hopefully they'll give us their honest opinion; because many may feel as though they have been tricked into to something that they thought to to have been eating. To Further add, since I'll be asking many of the college, I will ask a few ( only if they feel comfortable and willing to answer) about how they feel about eating from the canteen due to the fact that some may have changed their ways of eating. Along that lie, I will be asking the head of the canteen of his/her view on the meat scandal situation for him/her personally and if it has made a slight decrease in those who usually eat at the canteen. There will be a chance that I ask a teacher who eats at the canteen on a regular basis.

Legal issues: Any questions that i ask must not be misleading questions, also make sure that any information that I give is factually accurate as it may seem that I'm not taking the topic seriously or to save myself any embarrassment from being corrected by someone i am interviewing. Any facts that i give have to be right as otherwise there will be legal actions that will take place.

Appeal to target audience: This will appeal to everyone who attends the college as they will want to know if the food they are eating contains horse meat or not. It will also appeal to them because there has been such a big commotion about the horse meat that it has pretty much started to affect everyone even those who don't even eat meat because Therefore the main target audience will be the students who attend the college as they are who consume the food the most. The secondary audience will be teachers who eat from the canteen as there are more students then teachers.

University Fees:

Content synopsis:

As university fees have now risen to on average £9000 a year 10% less people have applied to university this year which evidentially could affect people careers and lives in the long run. I would interview the careers advisor's in our college and see if they think the fees are reasonable and if they think it is still worth going university. The fees are putting students off as they feel that it is pointless to go to university with such high costs as students even after university find it hard to find work. There have been many protests against the costs but still nothing has been changed.

Legal issues:
This report package will have to be objective, balanced and factually accurate. I cannot ask any misleading questions and all facts I give have to be balanced but must also be true as this could change someone's prospective about a certain object and could even ruin someone’s reputation. This is illegal and will have its consequences.

Appeal to target audience:
The target audience is 15-24. This means that it will appeal to teenagers who are generally students. They will find this appealing as the younger target audience will find it interesting because some of them will be going university and the other will find it appealing as some are already in university so therefore everyone will have a general opinion on it.

THIRD TREATMENT
Crime

Content synopsis:
In the year ending 30 September 2012, the crime rate in City of Westminster was higher than the average crime rate across similar areas. This is becoming a major issue as some people are beginning to worry about there safety. I will be asking students in City Of Westminster how they feel about the fact that City of Westminster’s crime rate in 2012 was higher than the average across similar areas. I will be asking them if they continue to feel safe in the area and what they think should be done to help lower this rate. I will also be asking teachers the teachers how they feel to work in a area where the crime rate is high and what they think the cause of it is. I will also ask them how they fell when they witness fights or any crime in the area and if they feel the feel safe trying to stop any of this happening.

Legal issues:
All the questions I ask may not be misleading or threatening in anyway. As this speech package is about crime some people may feel endangered by some of the facts that i give or questions that I ask. Therefore in no way should I make people feel unsafe or responsible for anything that may have happened or about the crime rates. As i will be giving a lot of facts that have to be true and must not be misleading or threatening.

Target Audience:
This is a topic that appeals to everyone as everyone cares about their safety. As in the college there are more students then teachers, most of the questions that I ask will be regarding the students. The secondary audience will be the teachers as they are as equally concerned about their safety as children are. I will also ask other people who are part of the college questions, such as the canteen staff and the cleaning staff.

Two examples of soundtracks from 2 different films.

Explain; the inclusive of music, dialogue, Foley and FX. Along with describing the sound of each. How the sound relates to what is happening visually within your chosen scenes..

Fast&Furious6:
Music: We own it - Wiz Khalifa & 2Chainz -
This song relates to the scene because from the very start of the this film ever being made, the actors always had someone or something that they would always have to to stick by them. Sticking to together through thick and thin, always being there for each other no matter what the situation was Paul Walker and Vin Diesel always finished what they started. ' We own it' is a saying that definitely sums up their friendship or code on family.

Dialogue: In this scene, there wasn't much dialogue because the song was doing all of the talking whilst the action within the scene was telling the story. It made more sense if it was done this way because Fast and Furious has always been film where the action tells the story, the words were always minimum compared to the body language, facial expressions and most importantly the cars. But at the start of the scene, the main words that had to be stuck in the audiences head had to be ' RIDE OR DIE REMEMBER?' because what he said was a question it was more a statement.

Foley: The sound of the gun shots is a very good example because we all know they real guns used on a set isn't allowed in country especially here and America. So doing some research on on how gun shot sounds are made: A heavy staple gun combined with other small metal sounds make good gun noises. Along with the sound of the cars scraping against each other as they try to knock each other the track or road

FX: The explosions and the stunts were the main sources used within the scene and practically throughout the whole film because that is what fast and furious 6 is based on. The stunts used made everyone sit on the edge of their seat, creating empathy, causing people to talk about what's going to happen next. The sound, mainly has the bass when it came to the explosions and crashes.

Step Up: Miami Heat - Ocean Dive
DJ Mix: Lil'Jon, Busta Rhymes and many more.

The music relates the dancing as many would view this as street dance, and in this scene that represents that correctly as they scene has been set in the busy street of Miami in the road. The bass, flow and edginess of the music, make the audience look the body movement of the young people ( ages 19-25). Also it allows many who love to dance to relate to what they love on the screen, seeing others do what they do best will give the that courage to do it in the streets like they are.

Dialogue: Again another film, that doesn't really having speech involved within this scene as it lets all about the action do the talking. Even though this not an action film. This film allows the young and old to express themselves throughout their body movement in other words dancing.

Foley:When stunts are being done, Different sounds are used only for the audience to hear and not the actual people doing the stunts. For instance; a whoosh, when someone did a backflip or a front flip. Also when the actors, jumped or where entering a new part of the dance routine; different type of sound effects were used to grab the audiences attention.

FX: The sound of stunts being done are literally used throughout the whole film. As the film itself is known for the dances, the moves and the sound effects itself.
