Speech packages - James Hodges

This speech package -Newsbeat was broadcasted on BBC Radio 1 and was aired on the 15/01/2013 by Steve Holden. The Topic involved within this package in mainly to inform Class A-B as it is giving people information about events that are happening locally and world wide. The Language format used is more informal than other news programmes but not to point where the viewers don't understand a word that is being said. The informers were outspoken and clear within the deliverance within his wording, his pace was slow and steady. Yet at some point, he didn't speed up slightly due to the time period. The genre of this speech package is news. The target audience are the ages of 20-50+ as the younger generation don't follow formal new programmes. Too further add to this, weren't any open questions asked for the audience to ponder whilst listening to this speech package as it possibly needed to get the viewers thinking about the environment that they are living in  and are surrounded by.

Choice-Fm speech package - aired 29/01/2013 by KOJO. The target audience was aimed at 15-26 as the radio mainly plays music within the younger generation but has an hour of noughties. But the package was based on the happening in London. [ Class D,E,C1 and C2]. The news reported was at the scene of the recent murder in South London, Pimilco. You could tell that he was at the scene by the deigetic sound in the background; cars passing, people conversing and many more. The package was short and quick as the young do get bored, Kojo used a sense of seriousness and depth within his voice when it came to the highest range of murders in London yet it had a moral behind it, as this radio station is targeted at the younger generation - once they become bored and tire quickly from the subject being out of proportion of the time zone they are in, they tend to not take on what is being said and this in agreement on my part as i am a student and understand this statement. The language was formal, loud and clear with a serious tone as crime as it is a serious matter as it is as all times. The reason for this package was to let people to know what has been happening around them, Informing and entertaining is the reason for this radio station in general.

One afternoon on 10/12/2012, Radio 4 aired a speech package based on educating on a Class B-C audience  Those who read the Gaudrian, daily mirror. The music was at the slow tempo as it was classical which set the tone for the speech package as the audience is aimed at between 30-50 as they endure a high pay check but to further add the gender of the audience is at an even end. This radio speech package is blatantly educational as at some point of the package, the male informer is discussing the history of WW2. As both gender can relate as males and females who take pride into the further education down the line even further down the age line. Though we do live in patriarchal Society in other words a society ran by men, women are and have been equally privileged to vote and take on the views of what the government have to say. The classical tempo being played in the background is used to give the topic being spoke about a subtle tone, which is subtle for the ages of 40-50 years of ages due being mature at the mind.

LBC (London's biggest conversation) is not the only radio station ( The others are; 5Live, Radio4..)  that doesn't play music and is based on aired conversations only which aimed at those Londoners ages of 35-55. Too further add the language is rather formal, the broadcaster speaks on a hushed tone due to the seriousness of the topic that he talking about. The genre of this radio station topic of the day is crime. The speaker has music in the background to give it a calm tone about the subject. This radio station is very popular with black can drivers, in a result the purpose of this speech package is to inform as it prati ally news based on crime.
